Having enjoyed The Whistling Season so much, I checked out this sequel. It has a lot of the same snap, but not as much crackle. The story line is built around the massive Anaconda Copper operation in 1919.
This story gives us a return to Montana of Morrie, the one time fight promoter who became the teacher of a one room school in the first book. Now, ten years later, he hopes the Chicago mob has forgotten him and he can live a peaceful life working in the Butt public library.
Needless to say, trouble finds him.
I enjoyed the read, but it was not as good as Whistling.
