I had to jump into the next episode of Maggie Hope. I’m a sucker for books from the war years. If I’ve counted right, this is number six in the series.

Having returned to London after helping Churchill in his Christmas, 1941, visit to the White House where Maggie received assistance from the President’s wife, she now finds that the wife of the King offers assistance in tracking down a killer who is imitating Jack the Ripper.

There were a couple of dark turns in subplot story lines, but I expect they will be dealt with by 1945. I look forward to the next book.
